Do you enjoy coordinating and managing large events and conferences? Are you detail & guest oriented? If so, Zermatt Utah may have just the position for you! Zermatt Utah Resort and Spa, located just minutes from Park City, is seeking a qualified, full-time Conference Services Manager to join our outstanding Sales/Conference Services Team! Zermatt recently joined with Wyndham as part of their unique Trademark Collection. As Utah's & the Intermountain West's largest conference resort, Zermatt offers 65,000 square feet of meeting, performance and exhibition space; two delightful restaurants; an award-winning bakery' an elegant Spa & Wellness Center; and over 300 spacious guest rooms.

Essential Functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinate all logistics of meetings, conferences, exhibit shows or other special events and activities with accuracy and detailed communication outlines for the client and hotel departments, providing the appropriate memos, Banquet Event Orders, Group Resumes and other communication as necessary.
  • Ensures that all contracted groups are meeting or exceeding both room and food + beverage revenues, monitoring for potential attrition.
  • Must be able to upsell food + beverage, guest room types and any ancillary revenue streams.
  • Obtains Conference rooming lists, monitors cut-off dates, obtains rooming lists by the due date and in accordance with the sales contract.
  • Maintains accurate and current space (room) blocks in the group function log, observing proper turnovers and releasing space appropriately and timely, so to maximize the revenue potential of the hotel through the booking of other business opportunities.
  • Support Sales Teams with prospective clients by suggesting logistics, creating custom menus, outside vendor coordination, etc.
  • Keeps the Director of Conference Services promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so that prompt and corrective action can be taken when appropriate.
  • Conduct tours for potential and booked clients.

Requirements:

  •  Prior experience in the field of hospitality with specific experiences in Conference Services/ Catering Sales in preferred, but not required
  • Well organized, detail oriented and excellent follow up skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • High level of creativity, enthusiasm and flexibility
  • Maintains flexible hours to accommodate customer needs, due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry. Conference Service Managers may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
